Feedburner kündigt “AdSense for RSS feeds” an – damit soll ab nächster Woche einer kleinen Gruppe von RSS-Feed-Betreibern die Möglichkeit gegeben werden “Ads by Google” in ihre RSS Feeds zu integrieren. Die werbefreie, jungfräuliche Zeit von RSS Feeds ist damit zunächst einmal vorbei.

Denn Feedburner hat eine hohe Marktdurchdringung mit einer Vielzahl an Abonnenten. Gepaart mit Googles Online-Werbekompetenz ist da einiges für RSS-Publisher drin:

Bleibt abzuwarten, wie z.B. RSS-Aggregatoren wie Netvibes reagieren. Sie haben schon lang erkannt, dass RSS die Zukunft ist und profitieren von den stark ansteigenden Nutzerzahlen. Doch AdSense für RSS Feeds dürften sie eher als Konkurrenz empfinden. Denn schliesslich ist die Aufmerksamkeit der User bekanntlich knapp und zudem nur ein werbefreier RSS Feed besonders nutzwertig.

Mal sehen, wann es die ersten RSS Feed AdBlocker gibt – ich denke, das wird nicht lange auf sich warten lassen. Im Browser-Bereich sind Adblocker ja allgemein verfügbar für alle gängigen Browser und dazu auch noch sehr effizient.
